English Comprehension

Dear pupils,

Here are some of the points to remember when answering Comprehension questions:

1.  Do not 'lift' answer from the passage (i.e. copy the whole sentence without any changes). You can only do so if the question requires you to do so. Do note the difference between "Which sentence in the passage tells you that..." & "Write two sentences to describe...". The first question is asking you to lift the answer from the passage whereas the second question is asking you to write in your own words.

2.  Remember to answer directly to the questions. Do not give unnecessary details.

3. Remember to use the correct tenses.

Please refer to the comprehension tips notes given to you for more details.

T1 W9 (CA1)

Dear pupils,

Just a gentle reminder on the following:

1.  Monday (1/3) morning assembly:
-  Please assemble at the parade square (not MPH) for the flag raising ceremony. Do not go to the classroom to place your school bag. CA1 English paper will commence immediately after the flag raising ceremony.
- Do note that late-comers will not be given extra time to complete the exam paper. So please be punctual.

2.  Change in date for Science & Mathematics paper:
-  Science paper (2 March)
- Mathematics paper (3 March)
Please refer to the Topics to be tested for more details.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Dear pupils,

Please remember to wear your Chinese traditional costumes or PE attire for the Chinese New Year celebration this Friday (12/2/2010). You do not need to bring your school bags. However, if you wish, you may bring a small bag along with you. Don't forget to bring your water bottles along.

School will function as a single session from 7.20am to 12.50p.m. The assembly area for P3&P4 is at the MPH. Since there will be a carnival, you may wish to bring extra money to purchase some items from the Carnival.

As for "Lao Yu Sheng", I will provide disposable chopsticks and small plates for the occasion. However, you may bring your own chopsticks if you wish to.
